Z50 self timer and bracketing issue

Help please! I'm new to the NikonCommunity forum so hoping someone can help me.
My z50 decides to take 5 identical shots (not bracketing - that's turned off) when in self timer mode of 2 seconds. Anyone know how to stop it doing this - very annoying if doing long exposures and of course eats more battery! Thanks.

Have you tried a Reset? Something may have gotten "confused" in the settings.

It sounds like your Z50 might have the Interval Timer Shooting or Continuous Release Mode enabled. Here’s how you can fix it:

1. Go to Menu > Photo Shooting Menu > Interval Timer Shooting and make sure it’s turned off.
2. Check your release mode settings (usually found on the back screen or via the “i” menu). Set it to Single Frame instead of Continuous or Burst mode.
